A cry for help comes from Silverpine Forest as Horde and Alliance patrols are going missing, the moon is full and there are distanced howls at dusk.
You are tasked in investigating the disappearance of your patrols, you discover an abandoned crypt. As you venture within you hear screams and yells of men, women, and children. You see corpses of your patrol men chained upon walls and crosses. The Scarlet Crusade is involved. You notice Keeshan chained up on a cross and find a strange woman with a miserable nerve-wracking presence, you put two and two together, she must be leading them. You cautiously approach and the woman notices you. Unable to attack her, you helplessly watch as Keeshan yells at you to escape while grunting in pain by a dark magic she is inflicting on him. The woman laughs " I hope you will be much more fun to play with." As soon as you turn to strike the woman, she vanishes.
You call out to Keeshan, no reply. As you approach Keeshan, he lunges at you with the ferocity of a wolf attempting to bite your head off. You put keeshan down and report back to your outpost.
As you head back to the outpost, you are suddenly ambushed by a pack of worgen. It seems the woman sent them after you.
You notice you were bitten during your encounter and shrug it off.
After some time and investigation, you try to pinpoint the whereabouts of the woman at Fenris Isle, a now scarlet occupied fortress. As you sneak past the scarlet guards and infiltrate into the keep, You slay a commanding officer of the Scarlet Crusade. No sign of the woman but you did secure her location, Shadowfang Keep, as well as her plans to resurect Arugal.
As you and a band fight and venture through shadowfang keep and it's horrors. You approach and eavesdrop on the woman and her conversation with an image of Barean Westwind. During their conversation something clicked in your mind, remembering that the heroes of Northrend approached Barean Westwind and his Scarlet Onslaught in Icecrown.
It was reported that Mal'ganis was indeed alive and was under the guise of Barean Westwind.
You note that The Shadow Council has been conducting tests under the supervision of the Crone. Mal'ganis seeks to bolster the Scarlet Crusade/Onslaught and infuse the Scarlet Crusade with a mixture of the worgen curse and demon blood. You and your party interrupt and attack the Crone, Barean Westwind glares at you as his image fades.
The crone commends you for making it this far and begins to channel dark magic, summoning a risen Arugal. As Arugal attacks and distracts your party, The crone escapes through a portal.
Arugal is defeated by your band of adventurers and reports are made to faction officials. A campaign into the plaguelands and tirisfal is being argued and pushed by the officials but it doesn't seem likely.
during hiatus it is revealed that the Plaguelands have been seized by the Scarlet Crusade and have been cleansed of the plague that taints it, renamed to their former; Western and Eastern Lordaeron. The Forsaken and Argent Crusade are fighting an uphill battle against the Scarlet Crusade.
